Space Pirates!

A travelling pirate, Captain Richard Morgan, came to visit our class. He told us about his new ship – but the Solar Surfer sails through the stars, not the seas! And as the Solar Surfer is powered by solar waves, of course, it’s vital that the Captain understands the differences between Red Giants, White Dwarves and Black Holes. But that’s the problem: he doesn’t. So he arrived at our school in search of help. After working in small groups on different activities, we will had all the information we needed to solve his problems for him. We performed dramatic representations of a range of different possible life cycles for stars – and alerted the Captain as to exactly what he needs to look out for!

Foundation Stage Vision

“We believe every child is unique, a competent learner from birth and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. We are committed to developing positive relationships so our children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving secure relationships with parents and/or their key person. We aim to provide enabling environments for all our children that play a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning. We believe children learn in different ways and at different rates, and that all areas of learning and development are equally important and interconnected.”
