Important information
  • Please remember your P.E. kit for P.E. on Thursdays and Dance on  Fridays.
  • Homework is given out on a Monday and is due in on a Friday.
  • Children will be tested on their spellings and times tables every Friday.
  • Please read with your child every night.
  • Music is on Wednesday and Mandarin is on Friday.

Class 2R had a special visit from Jeremy who helped us to learn all about Shabbat.

The children enjoyed their 'hands of friendship' themed philosophy lesson. Our question was 'Do you always need a friend if you are alone?'

The children have been using talk for writing to orally retell the story of the Tear Thief. We can't wait to write our own stories based on the Tear Thief.
The children have been working hard on their addition calculations using the tens and ones to help them. 
The children had a great time using an avatar maker website on the ipads to create their own avatars. We discussed how important it is to stay safe on the internet and not post any personal information or photographs. Can you guess who the avatars belong to?
 
29.10.17 - Macmillan Coffee Morning
Today the children all took part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning and helped raise money for such a great charity. Thank you for all of your donations, the children all enjoyed their cakes. 
Class 2R used 2 count to create a pictogram of the most popular fruit in year 2.
Class 2R had a great time baking cupcakes. The children can't wait to taste them.
SPAG Week
 
Class 2R have been learning about different types of sentences and the difference between adjectives and nouns.
Treasure Maps
 
In Geography, we've been exploring directional language, compass roses and maps as part of our new topic. We even made treasure maps! 
Wow, what a great first day we have had! We had a special visit from Ed from Anchor Education who taught us a fantastic song to help us use exclamation marks. We can't wait to try them out in our writing.
