- P.E. day is Thursday and dance is Friday children need full kits in for these lessons.

Class 2R had lots of fun building their own safe shelters during arts week. We have been working hard to make our school a safe and welcoming place for others.
During arts week Class 2R had a special visit from George. George taught us a number of SPAG songs to help us prepare for our SATs. We had lots of fun learning the songs and the actions.

Years 1 and 2 act out the Crucifixion and Resurrection for their Easter assembly.
Children enjoyed a visit to Sefton Park where the park ranger told us all about the plants and wildlife that live in there.

Class 2R found a special gift waiting for them in class this morning. Take a look to see what it was.
Wow what an amazing time we had at the zoo. We saw lots of animals including baby elephants and giraffes. Some of us even ventured into the bat cave.
Today the children learnt of a very worrying discovery that money and a laptop have gone missing from the school. The following suspects have been named and cautioned. Please approach with care.
Class 2R became forensic scientists for the day to help find the culprit. They tested blood samples, took finger prints and investigated footprints found at the scene.
The children go on the hunt for more clues and find the culprit.
2R scientists investigated which solution is best to make an egg float.
2R scientists investigated how we can make water travel without touching it.
Today we had a special visit from one of the chicks that hatched in Reception. The chick's name was "Six". Miss McNally told us all about the chicks and we had lots of questions for her too.
Internet Safety day
Class 2R make internet safety posters to spread the key messages to others.
Class 2R used their computing skills to make collages about themselves to show what information is safe to put on the internet. Can you guess who the collages belong too?
Class 2R enjoyed a cookery class making Chinese stir fry to start off their Chinese Golden Culture week. Charlie described the stir fry as "yummy".
We had a special visit from a dragon this week to help us learn a Chinese dragon dance that is used at celebrations. We even learned some facts about the Chinese dragon.
Class 2R had lots of fun taking part in the chopstick challenge. We found it very challenging but some of us managed to succeed.
Class 2 enjoyed watching a Traditional Tales production. They even did some ginger aerobics! After the show the children took part in a workshop with the actors.
Class 2R scientists explored a rang of objects and materials around the class.
Class 2R have been identifying different types of words during their SPAG weeks.
Wheels and axles
Class 2R researched, designed and made their own sleigh for Santa. Take a look at some of our finished products. We are very proud of them!
Class 2R had lots of festive fun during their Messy Morning. We made stockings, Christmas plates, party mats, cards, decorated biscuits and wrote letters To Father Christmas!
Year 2 had a fantastic time making cheese and onion pasties. We can't wait to taste them!
Class 2R take part in a workshop for anti-bullying week.

Signs and Symbols
Over the next few weeks the children will be learning about signs and symbols for their come and see topic. This will include learning about the Sacrament of Baptism. To help the children to learn about the signs and symbols used in the Sacrament of Baptism they paid a visit to church to speak to Father Conor.
Class 2R practised their golf skills during sports week.

Class 2R found out all about St. Matthew's Church as part of the heritage day. The children had lots of fun carrying out the quiz and they even found all the angels. Can you find out how many angels there are in the church?
This week the children have been learning all about animals and their offspring. The children practised their science skills by classifying animals into their animal groups based on their characteristics.
Lion group used instruments to enhance a Psalm about new beginnings during their R.E. lesson.
Class 2R enjoyed watching the production of Charlotte's Web in school today.
Other Faiths Week
This week we have been learning all about Judaism. We even had a special visit from Jeremy who taught us all about Shabbat.
This week we have been learning about instructions in our Literacy lessons. We started by making our own jam sandwiches and then we used imperative verbs to write our own set of instructions.
Class 2R enjoyed a visit from Robot Nao. He demonstrated his dance moves and showed us how he can score a goal. This week we will be learning more about robots and programming.
