Image result for hello everyone

Hello Class 6P,

I hope you are keeping healthy and safe whilst you are off school! Remember to keep washing your hands and follow the advice on social distancing!

You have been given lots of work in your home learning packs to keep you busy, but whilst we are not in class, please look at the additional resources and links provided on this page to keep your brains active and stimulated at home. I have split this web page into different topics/subjects using subheadings for easy navigation and understanding. The links and suggested activities will be updated regularly so please keep checking this class page.

It is important that whilst we are not in class, we keep our mind, body and souls active and happy, so I will do my best to put a variety of different activities on this website for you to explore.

Every week I will upload a 'suggested weekly timetable' with some activities in it and any suggested resources will be added to the bottom of this page if needed. Please do not feel that you need to stick to this timetable, it is just there as guidance should you need it.

Please also use many of the other educational resources and links that have been, and will continue to be provided on this webpage and class dojo too!

If you find anything that you would like to share with the class, don't forget you can tell me about it on Class Dojo. You can also take a picture or screenshot of any completed work and send it to to me on Dojo! Remember to keep checking Class Dojo for more fun and friendly activities! Parent/Carers, I have put some more information about Class Dojo below!

I can't wait to see you all again soon! Please keep in touch via dojo!

Miss Parry

Parents and carers, I am aware that many of you will either be key workers or will be working from home, the tasks I have provided for the children are age appropriate and I believe that all of the children in class are capable of completing them independently and to their own ability if they need to do so.

I have also tried to put some fun activity ideas on here for when you have time for some family fun!

All of the children were provided with some paper, a pencil, a ruler and a rubber in their home learning packs before school closed. Children can communicate with me via class dojo if they would like too.

Thank you for your support and I hope you all stay happy and healthy.

Miss Parry.

Parents/carers, your child should have a QR code to log into the Class Dojo website/app. The QR code was sent home in the learning packs.
There will be regular tasks set for your child to complete on class dojo.
These tasks are meant to be a bit of fun and can be responded to in a variety of different ways. If children can not access dojo, I will also be putting tasks and activities on this school web page.
On dojo, I can view their response and leave a friendly comment. Children can access class dojo via the website below or via a free app to download.
It is also a lovely way for the children and teachers to stay in touch as I will be responding to their work, drawings and videos each day. I will also be awarding the children dojos which is something they are used to in class.
Thank you for your continued support.

Year 6, this time is a very strange and confusing time for adults across the world right now, so of course, it is extra confusing for children! It is a new experience for us all!
However, if we all follow the government advice and listen to the guidance from the professionals and our NHS, everything will be okay.
What is quite interesting to think about, is that right now... we are all a part of history!
In years to come, (just like we learn about different aspects of History in school) children will learn about 2020, when the world had to deal with the Corona Virus, and all of the children had to do their school work at home!
I think it would be a really good idea if you created your own 'lock down project.' Lock down doesn't have to be something scary and boring, but something worth writing about and thinking about how we are now creating History.
Why don't you create a mini diary or a journal about all of your adventures and activities during this unusual time.
I'm sure it could become a valuable piece of historical evidence in years to come!
Think about:
1) What did you learn this week at home that you wouldn't normally learn in school?
2) What fun thing did you do this week?
3) Why is learning at home different to learning in school?
4) What are you looking forward to doing when you come back to school?
5) Food diary?
6) What communication have you have with different adults this week? How have you communicated with them?
7) Where have you been this week? Have you been outside?
8) Can you explain some of the new vocabulary we are hearing on the news, for example, 'social distancing' and 'isolation?'
9) What have you appreciated this week that you wouldn't normally spend time to appreciate?
If you would like me to read some of your responses please post them on class dojo, or feel free to keep them as a personal journal!
