Welcome to St Matthew's Catholic Primary School
We visited the allotment and we dug up different vegetables and plants. We were getting the allotment ready for us to plant new things.
It was lots of fun and we saw lots of different insects too and even held some.
This week we had our first session with Kev from Earthworks. He spoke to us about what plants need to grow and we planted our own seeds for an experiment to see how they grow.
We have put one with no light or water, one with no light but water, one with light and no water and one with both light and water.
We will observe these over the next few weeks.
In Art we our topic is Autumn. We have been looking at leaves and exploring the different colours and textures. We did some observational drawings of different leaves and looked at the different shades and markings on them.
We have started learning french this year and have learnt how to say greetings colours and numbers so far.
In PE this term we have been focusing on fitness.
We have been learning different exercises and today we made up our own circuit in groups.
